Skydo vs popular alternatives

03 / WHY IT MATTERS

The hidden cost isn't always called a fee.

A 1–4% FX difference can dwarf a flat payment fee. That's why the calculator separates the exchange rate from the provider fee.

Zero FX markup

Skydo says it converts at a live mid-market rate with zero added FX markup, charging a separate flat fee instead.

Predictable pricing

For standard global receiving, Skydo lists $19 up to $2,000, $29 from $2,001–$10,000, and 0.3% above $10,000, plus GST.

Compliance workflow

Skydo provides automatic FIRA and says it handles purpose-code and cross-border compliance workflows for eligible payments.

Fast settlement

Skydo states that standard payments can settle to an Indian bank account within 24 hours, subject to the payment route and checks.

04 / WORKFLOW

A cleaner way to collect a client invoice

For direct B2B service invoices, the basic flow is intentionally simple.

01

Create your account

Complete Skydo onboarding and set up the receiving account details relevant to your client.

02

Send your invoice

Share the appropriate local receiving details or payment option with your overseas client.

03

Track the payment

Monitor the payment status while Skydo processes the inward remittance.

04

Receive INR + documentation

Skydo says the funds settle to your Indian bank account and a FIRA is generated automatically.

05 / FAQ

Questions freelancers usually ask

Is Skydo cheaper for every invoice?

No. The flat fee can be relatively expensive on very small invoices. The calculator above helps you test your own amount. For larger invoices, a flat $19/$29 fee can be a much smaller percentage of the payment.

Does Skydo really have 0% FX markup?

Skydo currently states that it uses the live mid-market rate with zero FX markup. That does not mean the service is free: its published receiving fee is separate and GST applies to that fee.

What is FIRA and why should I care?

FIRA is evidence of a foreign inward remittance. For Indian exporters/freelancers, having transaction documentation readily available can simplify accounting, GST/export documentation and audit trails. Your exact tax treatment should be confirmed with your CA.

Is the FX rate on this page a live bank quote?

No. It is a daily reference rate from Frankfurter. It is useful for estimation, but the amount actually credited can depend on the provider's settlement process and the applicable rate at that time.

Who should consider Wise or Payoneer instead?

Wise can be attractive if you want a broader multi-currency workflow and its variable conversion fee works for your payment size. Payoneer can be especially useful when your income comes from marketplaces and platforms that integrate directly with Payoneer.
